ACCOMAC COUNTY COURT.

Proceedings, January Term, 1901.

The following fiduciary accounts were confirmed and ordered to be recorded: Audits of estates of John J. Hopkins; orphan accounts of Jno. P., Ada V., Arthur B., Charles T., Cleveland C. and George M. West, James S. Fox; guardian accounts of William R. and Lydia M. Miles, Alfred B. Gardner and Anna Belle Scarburgh; trust accounts of S. C. Gottschalk & Co., B. P. Penney, Elizabeth M. Wallop, Mary V. Neely and others; accounts of Albert Lewis and William Young, persons of unsound mind, with their committee.

The clerk made report to Court list of fines reported by Justices of Peace in December and same examined and ordered to be filed.

George B. Mason was appointed and qualified as guardian of James Walter Mason, orphan of George W. Mason, deceased.

Letters of administration were granted to Nathaniel B. Wescott on the estate of Margaret A. Holt, deceased.

Julius W. Ward, Overseer of the Poor for Magisterial District of Pungoteague, tendered his resignation to the court.

The last will of James H. Harmon was proved and John E. Mapp qualified as executor.

The last will of Harriet Burton, colored, was proved and James S. and John T. Burton qualified as executors.

The last will of John S. Baker was proved and E. Americus Baker qualified as executor.

The estate of Virginia A. C. Mears was committed to the sheriff for administration according to law with will annexed.

The sheriff made report to the court the number of prisoners in jail, their offenses, sentences, &c.

The estate of Sarah C. Kellam, deceased, was committed to the sheriff of the county for administration.

Upon petition of A. F. Mears and others for a public road. Viewers appointed.

Upon petition of John E. Hickman and others for a public road. Viewers reported against opening of road and cause dismissed on motion of petitioners.

Ex parte: Petition of Geo. W. Gillespie and others for a public road. Viewers appointed.

Ex parte: Petition of William H. Bloxom and others for a drain. Order entered, that drain be opened as recommended by commissioners.

The following accounts were allowed and ordered to certified to Auditor of Public accounts; Robt. H. Oldham, clerk, $3.60; Geo. E. Winder, J.P., $3.50; Custis W. Bloxom, J.P., 80 cents; E. T. Ross, constable, $13.35; W. P. Bell & Co., $6.55.
