CHAP. 144.--An ACT to allow Edwin T. Melvin and others to erect a wharf at Franklin city, Accomack county, Virginia.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That Edwin T. Melvin, Frank J. Melvin, and Peter R. W. Collins, of Accomack county, Virginia, and Milby Hancock, of Worcester county, Maryland, be and they are hereby authorized and permitted to erect a wharf at Franklin city, Accomack county, Virginia, in Chincoteague bay, for the purpose of shipping oysters and any other commodities to and from the same; for themselves and others; starting at the front southeast corner of William II. Ellis' line, extending in about a southeast direction along the line of the Deleware, Maryland and Virginia railroad, a distance of thirty-five feet, to the line of Ezra K. Young and sons, extending into Chineoteague bay four hundred feet between parallel lines of thirty-five feet; and the said Edwin T. Melvin, Frank J. Melvin, Peter R. W. Collins, and Milby Hancock, their heirs and assigns, shall have the right to charge and collect such compensation for the use of said wharf as may have been agreed upon by and between the parties, or as is usual: and provided also that this act shall at all times be under the control of the general assembly, and be amended or repealed as may be deemed proper.
