Approved March 20, 1923.

Whereas, pursuant to an order of the circuit court of the county of Accomac, entered on the ninth day of October, nineteen hundred and nineteen, an election was held on the fourth day of November, nineteen hundred and nineteen, authorizing the school board of Islands district, number one, of the said county, to issue forty thousand ($40 000) dollars worth of bonds for the purpose of providing a school building for said school district, and furnishing the same; and,

Whereas, by virtue of a resolution of the said school board, passed and entered on the first day of May, nineteen hundred and twenty-two, bonds amounting in the aggregate to forty thousand ($40,000) dollars were issued, bearing date on July fifteenth, nineteen hundred and twenty-two, but due to an oversight the said bonds were not signed by the chairman and secretary of the school board of said district and the corporate seal affixed thereto on the said date nor before the first day of September, nineteen hundred and twenty-two, on which last mentioned date under and by virtue of chapter four hundred and twenty-three of the acts of the general assembly of Virginia of nineteen hundred and twenty-two the said district school board was abolished; now, therefore,

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the persons who were chairman and secretary, respectively, of the school board of Islands district, number one, of Accomac county on July fifteenth, nineteen hundred and twenty-two, be, and they are hereby, authorized and directed to sign the bonds above mentioned, and affix the corporate seal of the said district school board thereto, and when so executed the bonds shall be in all respects valid and binding obligations.

2. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its passage.
