CHAP. 45.--An ACT to incorporate Cobb's Island Seaside Company.

Approved January 28, 1882.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That Alexander Hunter, Major D. A. Carter, R. Bolling Wilcox, Honorable H. H. Riddleberger, Colonel T. T. Fauntleroy, Stephen Hunter, H. S. Menefee, Judge Charles E. Stewart, General I. H. Hurt, and Oliver Funsteen, of Virginia, and W. R. Pearson, of the city of Washington, District of Columbia, and such other persons as they may associate with them, be and they are hereby incorporated by the name and style of The Cobb's Island Seaside Company, and by that name shall have perpetual succession and a common seal, may sue and be sued, plead and be impleaded, and in all respects shall be invested with the rights and privileges conferred, and subject to the restrictions and regulations prescribed for corporations in the Code of Virginia of eighteen hundred and seventy-three, so far as the same may be applicable to such incorporations, and not inconsistent with this act. 2. The purposes and objects for which said company is organized, are to purchase said Cobb's island and to repair and construct buildings for the accommodation of visitors; and in order more effectually to carry out the objects mentioned, the said company shall be empowered to construct wharves, artificial fish and oyster ponds, or other structures, as may be necessary to the conduct of their business. The capital stock of said company shall be divided into shares of one thousand dollars each, and shall not be less than fifty thousand dollars nor more than two hundred thousand dollars.
