CHAP. 147.--An ACT to prohibit the pollution of certain shellfish areas in the county of Northampton; to prohibit the pollution of the waters of Chuckatuck creek in the counties of Nansemond and Isle of Wight, Urbanna creek in the county of Middlesex, ...

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation, to construct any buildings for the disposal of human wastes or excrements or to lay sewer pipes or stable drains on the shores of any of the shellfish areas approved by the State health commission, in the county of Northampton, or on the shores of Chuckatuck creek in Nansemond and Isle of Wight counties or Urbanna creek in Middlesex county, or Bennett creek in Nansemond county or Carter's creek in Lancaster county or Milford Haven or its tributaries in the county of Mathews, so that the drainage from such buildings, sewer pipes, or stable drains shall mingle with the waters of said areas or creeks, or to throw or cause to be thrown any dead animal or animals or fowl or fowls into the waters of such shellfish areas or creeks in said counties.

2. Any person, firm, or corporation violating the provisions of this act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not less than five dollars nor more than one hundred dollars for each offense.
