Sir: I have the honor to submit herewith, for the consideration of Congress, for inclusion in the sundry civil appropriation bill now pending, the following estimates of appropriation:

Cape Charles, Va., quarantine station [Fisherman's Island]: New boarding launch $6,500

Columbia River, Oreg., quarantine station: New boarding launch 6,500

Representatives of the War Department, the Public Health Service, and the Office of the Supervising Architect recommended the purchase of launches for these two quarantine stations after a tour of inspection of various quarantine stations and marine hospitals under the control of the Treasury Department.
